Mahidpur: Opening of shops on alternate days, following the LeftñRight rule, remained effective in Mahidpur and its adjoining villages in Ujjain district for lasted for 10 days.

A day after the nod from the District Crisis Management Group (DCMG) meeting on Friday, all shops opened here on Saturday.

However, on the opening day of the complete unlock, the markets witnessed less crowd as majority of people are busy in preparing their farms or in arranging seeds and fertilisers.

June 1 onwards, agricultural produce market (APM) was running under the rules of panchayats and from June 14 farmers from any tehsil will be able to visit sell their produce at APM here.

In the Krishi Upaj Mandi 3,000 to 5,000 bags of wheat, gram, soybean are arriving per day. Wheat is fetching a price of Rs 1,700 to 2,100 and soybean is being sold at Rs 7,800 per quintal. Farmers in large numbers are arriving with their produce due to the increase in the price of soybean.
