Burhanpur: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the ‘Mask up Burhanpur’ campaign by wearing a mask with insignia of ‘Banana Harvest’, the identity of Burhanpur district.
He was on a day-long visit to the district on Saturday. He arrived on the helipad of Renuka Agricultural Market at 11.55 am.
While performing bhoomi pujan and launching various works worth Rs 173 crores including upgradation of District Hospital, the CM said that the government will leave no stone unturned to realise the unfulfilled dreams of ex-MP Late Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan. His contribution towards the development of Burhanpur district is unforgettable.
The events were streamed live on social media platforms. Only those who have received anti-Covid jabs were allowed in the programmes, said collector Praveen Singh.
While dedicating the Atal Memorial built on the BJP office premises here he said that by conducting nuclear tests ex-PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee contributed to the development of the country. BJP’s district chief said that this is the first Atal memorial of the state and second in the country after Delhi. CM also offered floral tributes at the Smarak. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also planted saplings here.
CM declared that the roadmap for development of industries and Atma-nirbhar Burhanpur in Burhanpur district will be prepared. He invited industrialists of the district to visit Bhopal in this regard. He was addressing the Investor Summit under the Atma-nirbhar Burhanpur campaign. Industrialists also shared their suggestions with CM. Divisional commissioner PK Sharma, collector Praveen Singh, SP Rahul Kumar Lodha and other officers and industrialists were present.
Demand for schemes to ease water woes
MLA Shri Thakur Surendra Singh said that the ground water level of the district is the lowest in the state. He requested that a scheme be launched to bring Indira Sagar water from Khandwa district through canal for irrigation and domestic consumption. Ex-minister Archana Chitnis asked CM to approve the Tapti Mega Recharge Project.
Every house in dist to get tap water by Sept 25
CM told the official to ensure that every household gets tap water under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He directed the officers of Public Health Engineering Department to ensure that every household gets supply of pure water through taps in Burhanpur by September 25.
Holds discussion with beneficiaries, releases booklets
Chief Minister released a booklets prepared by the district administration regarding the preparations for the possible third wave of third Covid -19 and Atmanirbhar Roadmap-2023 of Burhanpur district. He feted 5 doctors as corona warriors and held virtual discussions with the beneficiaries of government schemes.
Lauds dist administration
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan lauded the work done by Burhanpur district administration for prevention of Covid-19. He said that despite being located on the Maharashtra border, corona has been effectively controlled in this district. There has not been a single positive case of corona in Burhanpur district since the last 33 days. Despite this, the habit of wearing mask and practising social distancing should continue to protect against corona.
