Madhya Pradesh: Ambulance driver escapes leaving Covid-19 suspect's body under stairs in Ratlam

On Sunday night, Sundaram suffered breathing problems. Suspecting that he too got infected with coronavirus, he booked a private ambulance for a private hospital in Indore. He died on the way to Indore.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a shocking incident, an ambulance driver left Covid-19 suspect’s body under a multi-storey building and escaped in Ratlam town. The body was spotted by local residents on Monday morning.

The incident was reported at Mitra Niwas Colony in Ratlam district headquarters. The deceased has been identified as Mansukh Sundaram.

Police said that Sundaram belonged to a state in South India and was living at flat number-103 of Eros Tower in Mitra Niwas Colony on rent. He was associated with a Borewell business and was living along with his one friend, police added. His friend, who was recently tested Covid19 positive, is undergoing treatment at Ratlam Medical College.

On Sunday night, Sundaram suffered breathing problems. Suspecting that he too got infected with coronavirus, he booked a private ambulance for a private hospital in Indore. He died on the way to Indore.

The ambulance driver returned back to Eros Tower and escaped, leaving the body under the stairs.

Sub-inspector Manoj Jadaun said, “We were informed by residents. The body has been kept at the mortuary and would be handed over to family members, who are coming.”
