Indore: A girl not only drew a wedge between two teenaged friends but also led to one murdering another in a brutal manner by crushing his head with a heavy stone. The body was recovered from under a bridge in Banganga area on Tuesday around 9 am.
After receiving information, police team reached the spot and looked around for evidence. Later, his family members were informed to identify the body. The deceased was identified as 18-year-old Tushar Verma, a resident of Vardhaman Nagar. Additional Superintendent of Police Prashant Choubey said during subsequent investigation police zeroed in on Tushar’s friend Rahul Kote (19) of Vardhaman Nagar. Police came to know that Tushar was taken to Super Corridor by Rahul Kote for making payment to someone.
Even call details established that both were together in the night. Soon after Tushar’s body was recovered, Rahul reached police station claiming that he was his best friend. At that time, police did not find anything suspicious in his act. As evidence pointed towards Rahul as the ‘killer’, the cops arrested him. Unable to withstand constant questioning , Rahul broke down and what came out was a love story gone awry due to Tushar’s involvement.
Rahul told cops that he was in love with a 20-year-old girl in Vardhaman Nagar. As Tushar often visited his paternal aunt who lived in the area, they became good friends. He also introduced Tushar to his girlfriend. Much to the chagrin of Rahul, Tushar soon became friendly with his girl friend. A tinge of jealousy soon cropped in and Rahul suspected that the two were having an affair.
As a result, he decided to avenge and eliminate Tushar. Accused told police that he had contacted Tushar and took him to Musakhedi area for the payment of Rs 1200 to someone on Monday night. Tushar was a photographer so the accused took him to Super Corridor on the pretext of taking photographs. Tushar was busy in taking photos when accused reportedly attacked him with a heavy stone due to which Tushar died on the spot. Rahul then fled from the spot.
