City police arrested the accused who was on the run after abetting suicide of a liquor contractor in Kanadiya from Ujjain on Wednesday. He was hiding in hotel when he was arrested. Further investigation is underway.
Kanadiya police station incharge Anil Singh Chouhan said contractor Dharmendra Singh Rathore committed suicide after shooting self at his house when the family members were away. This was few months back.
A suicide note, which he sent to DIG, other police officials and a friend on WhatsApp was recovered by the police. Rathore had mentioned in the message that he was being harassed by wife, daughter and a person named Shilendra Singh Parihar.
Shailendra threatened him over phone and Rathore’s wife and daughter supported the accused. The police had registered a case against Shailendra, wife of deceased and daughter under relevant IPC sections. Since then, accused Shailendra was on police radar. Police raided many placed in the search of the accused but failed to arrest him.
On Wednesday, police received information that accused Shailendra is hiding in a hotel in Ujjain after which ASI Nitin Bhalerao and constable Vinod Yadav were sent to arrest him. The policemen collected the information about the accused and arrested the accused from the hotel. He was later brought to city and was produced before the court.
