Indore: Woman creates fake FB profile of her alleged husband, held

Indore: State cyber cell of police on Friday arrested a woman for allegedly creating a fake profile on Facebook. She claimed that man also sent obscene pictures on her personal profile. Superintendent of Police (cyber cell) Jitendra Singh said that a man named Dinesh of Prajapat Nagar had lodge a complaint on June 25, 2018 that unidentified person had created a fake Facebook profile using his photo as display profile and sending messages to his relatives.

During the investigation, a case under section 66-C, 61 of IT act was registered against unidentified person and further investigation was instructed to inspector Rashid Ahmad. The team arrested a woman named Anjali (name changed) and recovered a mobile phone and SIM card from her. She told the police that Dinesh married her a few years ago and they have a child. She alleged that Dinesh later started living with his first wife after which she created a fake profile using his photo to collect information about him from his relatives. She has allegedly confessed that she had sent obscene photos and messages to Dinesh to attract him.
