Indore: Two police constables posted at Aerodrome police station were stabbed by a youth late on Sunday. The accused first stabbed a youth in Nagin Nagar after which police constables were trying to nab him when he attacked them too. The accused has been arrested.
Aerodrome police station in-charge Ashok Patidar said the incident took place around 10.40 pm when Rohan was on his way home in Arihar Nagar under Chandan Nagar police station jurisdiction when he was stabbed by accused Pawan Chopra in Nagin Nagar area. The residents informed police about the incident when constables Prakash Chouhan and Manoj Nagar reached the spot but the accused had hidden in his house. The constables reached there and tried to nab him when the accused stabbed both of them with a pair of scissors.
Even after being injured, the brave constables didn’t give up and they managed to nab the accused. The constables are undergoing treatment in a city hospital.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Pawan is mentally unstable and he is also under medication. Superintendent of Police (west) Suraj Verma visited hospital and talked to the injured constables. Verma also announced a reward for the brave constables.
