The students of Modern Dental College have appealed to district administration to take over the college as it is not functioning for past six months. The students submitted a memorandum to additional district magistrate Ajay Sharma in this connection on Monday. Director of Modern Dental College Ramesh Badlani was arrested by police in May last year in the case of fraud as he had taken fees from students but did not run classes.
The students told administrative officials that faculty members are not holding classes in the college as the college administration has not paid salary to them for more than a year. “We requested administrative officials to intervene and solve our problem. We had met the college authorities who said college bank accounts have been sealed and they cannot do anything,” Modern Dental College PG student Dr Rumman Sheikh said.
Dental Council of India had inspected college few month back and didn’t allow them to admit new students from next session as the college was not functioning. “About 200-300 students of college are in trouble and their future is at stake. Administration should take action. We will not have any option except staging demonstration,” Dr Sheikh added.
