Indore: Government hospitals in the state will soon get more hands to deal with Covid-19 situation as Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has issued notification for filling 576 posts of medical officer lying vacant in Department of Public Health and Family Welfare.

The notification comes two days after MPPSC completed interviews for filling 727 posts of medical officers which were advertised in February.

The government decided to fill more vaccines after seeing the dearth of hands at hospitals during the second wave of Covid-19.

Applications have been invited from candidates holding MBBS or equivalent degrees.

Out of 576 vacant posts, 144 posts are for candidates belonging to the unreserved category. According to the MPPSC, online applications can be submitted from June 24. The last date for online application is July 23.

Candidates will have to submit a print out of the application along with documents till August 5 at MPPSC office.

MPPSC will prepare a merit-based list on basis of the marks of the applicants. Candidates five times the number of vacancies will be called for interviews. Selection will hinge on the marks obtained by candidates in interviews. MPPSC has not declared the date of the interview as yet. It is believed that in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the interviews will be started immediately after the application process is over.
