Indore: Shopkeeper attacked with chemical over denial to give tobacco

Indore: A paan shop owner was attacked with chemical after he denied tobacco pouch to a stranger on Wednesday under Betma police station.

The police said that an unidentified person came to a paan shop managed by Vijay Chauhan near Kanha Hotel and asked him to give tobacco pouch stating that he will pay him later. Vijay refused to give him pouch and asked him to give money first.

The man went away for a moment and returned with chemical in a plastic glass. He threw the harmful chemical on Vijay and fled away, police added. mVijay survived with injuries on his face and body. He was undergoing treatment in a city hospital.

The complaint was filed by the victim’s 13-year-old son narrating the entire incident. Police were investigating into the case and also scanning CCTV footages, to trace out the accused.
