Indore: Family members of a patient created ruckus at CHL Hospital, located at LIG Square, after his death on Sunday. The family members alleged medical negligence against the hospital and also alleged that two doctors of the hospital were fleecing in the name of treatment. However, the hospital squarely rejected the allegations.
The family members had created ruckus on Saturday as well alleging that the doctors had kept the patient on ventilator even after his death. Some Congress leaders too supported the family members and later were pacified by the police and sent the body for post mortem.
Bagli (Dewas) resident Satish Bachhania had given a written complaint to the MIG police station on Saturday that his brother Manish was admitted in CHL Hospital after he met with an accident two days ago. He alleged that he had deposited Rs 28,000 for treatment but found out that his brother had died but doctors kept him on ventilator.
The family members of Bachhania created ruckus in the hospital for more than two hours and also tried to ransack the hospital.
Later, MIG police station in-charge Anand Yadav reached the spot and pacified the agitators for sending the body for post mortem and to register FIR against doctors on finding them guilty.
Meanwhile, Dr Harish Tourani of CHL told Free Press that the patient was in a serious condition since his admission. “The family members created ruckus in the hospital by putting false allegations. We had treated the patients even when the amount was not deposited by them,” he said.
The doctor also added that the hospital had waived off the bill of the patient too before handing over the body to the family members.
