Indore: Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, a facility of Department of Atomic Energy in Indore, which is carrying out research in the field of particle accelerator, lasers and allied advanced technologies, will celebrate its foundation day on February 19.
The chief guest of the main function will be former principal scientific advisor to union government, Dr R Chidambaram. RRCAT director PA Naik will preside over the function. Chidambaram will also deliver foundation day talk. Many eminent scientists and former directors, and retired and present employees of RRCAT will be present on the occasion.
Besides, Dr Chidambaram will inaugurate Agriculture Radiation Processing Facility in presence of former RRCAT directors. This facility has been developed and set up near Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar vegetable mandi. The ARP facility has been indigenously developed and set up by RRCAT. It is one of its kind electron irradiation facilities and will be used for irradiation of agricultural produce, spices, cut flowers, sterilisation of medical products and mutation studies in seeds by agriculture universities.
