Indore: Students attempting JEE mains were surprised by NCERT questions in entrance examination on fourth day of examination in the city on Friday. Students who are taking Class XII board examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had a benefit of studying NCERT in the examination. Only a few students had taken a drop this year and attempted the examination to fulfil their dream of studying at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
Students talked about their experiences with Free Press after the attempting the exam. “The questions were not difficult because we had browsed through them in class but had not practised it,” Shyam Gupta said. He did not expect to see any question from CBSE syllabus. “I knew logic of those questions but had not worked on it so that became a loss for me,” Gupta said.
Another aspirant Tanay Sharma said, “I was hoping to attempt all questions but left some in physics, chemistry and mathematics.” However, he felt the paper was not extremely difficult and could have been cleared with little more practise, time management and speed.
“I was surprised that even physics had questions from NCERT, but it turned out to my benefit,” aspirant Jhanvi Soni said. She found chemistry equations easy to solve. “I understood importance of staying calm and peaceful for JEE mains because if we calmly see the question paper, it is manageable,” Shritij Upadhyay said.
