Indore: A 45-year-old woman was stabbed and threatened by a man on refusing to give extortion amount in Vijay Nagar area on Wednesday.
According to police, victim Malti Gaud said that she has a kiosk near Rasoma Square and on Wednesday evening accused Shahrukh Qureshi came to her saying that he wanted to install his own kiosk at the same place. On refusing to remove her kiosk, the accused started demanding Rs 500 every week for letting Malti work at the same place. As Malti refused to pay the money, accused Qureshi hurled abuses at her and attacked her with a sharp-edged weapon. Malti suffered severe injuries.
The accused then threatened the victim of dire consequences and fled from the scene. The injured victim was rushed to hospital following which she informed the police about the incident.
In another incident, 19-year-old Vijay alleged that Brijesh hurled abuse and attacked him with a sharp edged weapon following an altercation over some petty issue in Gangaur Nagar area on Wednesday.
In another incident, a cross complaint was registered against two groups for thrashing and attacking each other over some old rivalry in Aheerkhedi area on Wednesday. On one side Omkar Jadhav said that Dinesh Pawar, Ajay, and Ranu Rathore attacked him with a sharp weapon causing severe injuries to his back, head and hands.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, Ajay Rathore said Manu, Suraj, Dinesh and Santosh were standing in front of his house and abusing. He added that on stopping they thrashed Ajay causing severe injuries. The police is investigating the incident.
