Indore: Mercury touched 41.7 degrees Celsius in city on Thursday, making it the hottest day of the season. Moreover, meteorological department predicted spurt in temperature in next few days. The minimum temperature hovered around 26.2 degrees Celsius which was four degrees Celsius above normal while the maximum temperature, 41.7 degrees Celsius, was two degrees Celsius above normal. “The temperature will rise further in coming days with clear sky and would cross the 42 degrees Celsius mark in next week,” met officials said.
In 2018, the highest maximum temperature was recorded at 42.1 degrees Celsius on April 28 while on the same date in previous it was recorded 40.4 degree Celsius. The rise in temperature across the state is an after-effect of hot winds blowing in neighboring states which is directly influencing the weather of Madhya Pradesh.?Weathermen said winds blowing in north and southward direction also took its toll on the night temperature. There will be no respite in day temperature in next couple of days and nights will be hotter. City roads wore deserted look due to intense heat with people coming out of their cozy confines only in emergency cases. Due to rising heat and humidity, people are facing difficulty in their daily chores while the nights have become unbearable.
