Indore: Man finally booked for bid to burn wife a year ago

Police finally booked a man for allegedly setting his wife on fire in MIG area on Wednesday. The accused had blazed his house while his wife was sleeping inside the house a year ago. Police claimed that the husband was booked after the investigation of the case, for which they took so long.

The victim Rani lodged a complaint that the incident took place in May 2018 when she was sleeping inside the house and woke up in shock. She also sustained burn injuries. Police said the accused Shivprasad Namdev (30), resident of Banda Hall Mukam Gali himself tried to blaze the house. A case registered in MIG Police station against the accused under section 436 of the IPC.

Rani told police, “I ran outside the house to save myself, when I opened the door, I saw my husband holding a bottle of petrol in his hand”. She was hospitalized and saved by the doctors. During the investigation police found that the couple was having domestic disputes which later intensified. Police said the accused was booked after the investigation and statement of the woman.
