Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A youth, who was badly beaten up by a pehalwan (wrestler\body builder) in Pandrinath police station area, died during treatment in a city hospital after 13 days, on Tuesday. The police would now add murder section in against the accused in the case. The accused could not be arrested till filing of report.
According to the investigating officer ASI Ghanshyam Mishra from Pandrinath police station, Mohammad Shoeb, 25 years, a resident of Chandan Nagar area was beaten by the accused named Sarfaraz Pehalwan on June 29. Shoeb was employed somewhere in the area and he was stopped by the accused, who was threatening him and he thrashed Shoeb black and blue after the argument between them. Since then Shoeb had been undergoing treatment in a city hospital.
Shahbaz Khan, brother-in-law of the deceased, said that the accused was demanding money from Shoeb and as he had refused to give money to the accused, he was thrashed. The police registered a case against the accused but have been unable to arrest him till date.
After the incident, Shahbaz was informed by one of his friends about the incident. He reached the spot and took Shoeb to a private hospital from where he was referred to another hospital where he died during treatment on Tuesday.
Another man beaten to death in Tilak Nagar area
Tilak Nagar police registered a case against unidentified persons for beating a person to death on Tuesday. According to police station in charge Manju Yadav, the deceased Bhawani Kethwas (35), a resident of Pipliyahana Kankad was found dead in a ground near his house on July 8. The autopsy report revealed that he received internal injury and he was beaten to death by someone. The police have registered a case and are trying to identify the accused. Information about the person, who was seen last with the accused, is being gathered by the police. The statements of his family members are also being taken to know about his rivalries.
