Indore: The students appearing for class X, XII examinations conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education were shocked when board issued admit cards to private candidates recently. This sent a feeler that examinations will begin early as the candidates normally expect exams in March.

“Most students are still preparing and giving pre-board examinations. Sudden news of admit cards is a clear reminder to gear up for final board examinations,” educator Sudha Pandey said. She added that students must rush through syllabus and begin last month preparations.

“I was not expecting exams to begin for another month, but it seems that exams will start really soon,” student Gunjan Laddha remarked. She said pre-boards give them a preview of finals with a break to improve and study in between. “There is no time to prepare in between, so we must gear up now and study for finals,” student Himanshu Jain said.

Private candidates attempting the examination expressed similar views. “We were expecting to receive admit cards in February last week or second week. But this time, getting admit cards in January surprised us,” student Divyanshi Thakur said.

Link for corrections opens today

To make the admit card error-free, the link for making corrections in the list of candidates for Classes X and XII for 2019 examinations will open from January 25, 2019 (10 am) to January 27, 2019 (5 pm). Schools will be able to update all particulars except subjects for Classes X and XII and date of birth for Class X.

All corrections are to be updated during this period. Thereafter, request for any correction will not be entertained as mentioned in circular issued by controller of examination at CBSE Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj. According to circular, schools are requested to take print out of corrections and send them, duly signed, to the concerned regional office by February 11, 2019.
