Indore: The city witnessed three shades of weather on Monday as the sun had shone early in the eastern part of the city but it was dark and hazy weather in western part of the city till 10.30 am. Later, cool breeze reeled the city in the evening which provided relief to the denizens from the increasing heat and humidity.

Will it rain or will it not, was the question which people were asking. Some even thought there would be a radical change in the weather after Mahashivaratri festival. Some had put their money on the rains. Meanwhile, regional meteorological department said the city may witness drizzles and gusty winds in a couple of days if the weather conditions remained the same.

“With increase in temperature and cloudy weather, the northern part of state would receive rain on Tuesday and Wednesday while Indore region would witness light showers, mostly in isolated areas,” met officials said. They attributed the change in wind pattern and cloudy weather to increase in humidity in morning and evening both.

City’s maximum temperature which was hovering two degrees above the normal dropped three degrees Celsius below the normal on Monday. “Cloudy weather is due to rise in night temperature while the change in wind direction affected day temperature, which hovered around 29 degrees Celsius,” weatherman said.

City recorded a maximum temperature of 29.5 degrees Celsius on Monday, which was three degrees below normal while the minimum temperature at 16.2 degrees Celsius which was one degree above normal.
