Indore: Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) plugged Narmada water pipeline leakage at Dutta Temple in Vaishali Nagar area without disrupting the water supply in the locality and adjacent areas. A 600mm pipeline started leaking as it got damaged four days ago. Unlike previous occasions, the IMC did not stop water supply through this pipeline for repairing it rather adopted a new strategy to plug the leakage without disrupting water supply.

“We supply water on alternate days. As supply from Annapurna overhead tank was not to be done on Tuesday we started repair work on the damaged pipeline on Monday and completed it by Tuesday evening. After that, water supply to Annapurna tank was started. Till late night, the tank would get filled and then water be supplied through taps to households,” said Narmada Project executive engineer SK Kureel.
