Indore: GRP arrested two youths from Neemuch with stolen goods worth Rs 2.3 lakh

According to SP (Rail) Nivedita Gupta, acting on a tip-off, a team of GRP in Ratlam caught two persons from platform number 4 at Ratlam railway station on June 29.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Government Railway Police on Friday arrested two persons for stealing mobile phones and other valuables from the passengers on the trains. Stolen goods worth Rs 2.3 lakh were recovered from them.

According to SP (Rail) Nivedita Gupta, acting on a tip-off, a team of GRP in Ratlam caught two persons from platform number 4 at Ratlam railway station on June 29. The youths named Ajay Malviya and Omprakash of Neemuch were questioned by the police separately. They allegedly confessed to stealing 7 mobile phones from passengers on different trains. They also confessed to stealing gold and silver ornaments from the trains.

According to the police, on June 27, Deepak Jangidh of Jaipur had lodged a complaint that his wife’s purse was stolen by unidentified persons on the Jaipur-Bhopal Express train. Another complaint was lodged by Pradeep Samariya of Vadodara in Gujarat that some goods were stolen while he was travelling on Udaipur-Bandra Express on June 27.

Police claimed that the stolen goods and mobile phones including the goods of the complainants were recovered from the accused and further investigation is underway.
