Indore: A day after their appointment, the state government on Tuesday withdrew Sumer Singh and Vinay Bakliwal as members of board of governors of prestigious Daly College, on Tuesday. Singh is former principal of Daly College and Bakliwal is city Congress in-charge.

On Monday, an order released by the state government stated that Singh and Bakliwal were selected as government nominees in the Daly College board of governors. On Tuesday, another order was released by the school education department for cancelling their nominations.

I thank the honourable Chief Minister Kamal Nath and all my many well wishers for reposing confidence in me. However, after giving serious consideration to the issues involved, my shift to Punjab and my wife’s indifferent health, I conveyed my inability earlier today to accept this responsibility.
