Indore: Gauri Nagar residents on Wednesday staged a chakka jam near Sukhliya water tank over shortage of drinking water prompting Indore Municipal Corporation officials rush to the spot and pacify the protestors. Gauri Nagar and adjacent area residents have been facing acute water crisis for the past some days. The water tankers supplying water to households take five trips in a day but still there is a huge difference between demand and supply.
On Wednesday, residents of Gauri Nagar gathered at Shukhliya water tank and staged a road blockade. The IMC officials reached there and assured residents of increasing number of water tankers to deal with their problem. IMC superintendent engineer Harbhajan Singh said that they were taking all necessary steps to ensure that people were not left high and dry during these hot days.
