Indore: The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT-Roorkee) announced JEE Advanced Result on Friday. It was a moment of pride for Indore as both male and female zonal toppers of IIT Kanpur are from the city.
IIT Kanpur zone includes test centres Bhopal, Jabalpur and Indore from Madhya Pradesh, and Allahabad, Faizabad, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Lucknow and Varanasi from UP. Contd. on P10
Dhruv Arora is Indore city topper and zonal topper of IIT Kanpur in JEE Advance with all India rank (AIR) 24. He had again broken the city’s previous record with the highest rank.
Not far behind, Indore’s Valaya Ramchandani has set a new record for girls in the city by topping the zone with AIR 612. Dhruv had attainted AIR 3 in JEE Mains.
In paper-1 of JEE mains, he had scored 100 percentile. Along with this, in the JEE Advanced, Akshat Gupta made his mark with AIR 61 and Kevin Shah was the third city topper with AIR 85.
A total number of 161,319 candidates appeared in both papers 1 and 2 in JEE (Advanced) 2019. A total of 38,705 candidates have qualified JEE (Advanced) 2019. Of the total qualified candidates, 5,356 are females.
