Indore: Though the city has won the top prize in the smart city category, the fact is that work in many of the projects is at a standstill due to the unavailability of workers. Hence, many of the projects that were supposed to be completed by yearend won't meet the deadline.
Executive engineer (ISCDL) BR Lodhi assured, “The work will start very soon. The corona second wave affected our work badly."
Many of the projects are half complete, like the Boliya Sarkar Chhatri, where the bamboo structure is there around the Chhatri and it has been half painted with saffron colour and remaining part remains unpainted.
At Gandhi Hall, the restoration and rejuvenation work of the Gandhi Hall was completed at beginning of this year but it does not set open for the public because the horticulture work in its premises is still pending.
