Notably, Congress fielded Dr Govind Mujalde against BJP candidate Gajendra Singh Patel. From first day, Parmar opposed Dr Majalde’s candidature claiming that they won’t accept parachute candidate and party must reconsider its decision. Former district president said he is associated with Congress party since past three decades and worked hard to consolidate party’s position in the region. On the other hand, Dr Mujalde hardly did anything for party.
He said during last assembly election, state chief minister Kamal Nath assured him that party will field him as party candidate for Lok Sabha election. “I feel cheated again,” he said. Not only him, but his wife Subhadra Parmar who was one of the popular candidates for district panchayat president post, was also ignored. Parmar said he is waiting for party’s final decision and if his demand is not met, he will enter poll fray as an independent candidate.
