Indore: Amid the high voltage drama throughout the day over attack on Indore Municipal Corporation official and later arrest of MLA Akash Vijayvargiya, the Congress leaders led by leader of opposition in IMC Foziya Sheikh Alim and Congress city president Vinay Bakliwal met Additional Director General of Police Varun Kapoor on Wednesday and demanded strict action against the accused.
They demanded increase of IPC sections against Vijayvargiya and also arrest of other accused involved in the case. "Police should take strict action against Akash and all other accused involving in the attack of IMC officials and obstructing government work.
We have also demanded the ADG to suspend police officials who were on duty at the spot but couldn't save the IMC officials," Bakliwal said.
Meanwhile, state Congress committee secretary Rajesh Choukse said that the BJP leaders couldn't digest their defeat and are attacking IMC employees to express their frustration.
"We condemn the incident and demand the police to take strict action against the accused MLA and those involved in it," Choukse added."It is the true image and ideology of BJP. We condemn the incident and will take action against the accused MLA."
"Police didn't take any action yet against Congress leaders who created ruckus during Indore Municipal Corporation's budget session but took action immediately in this case. Police has been working under pressure of the state government."
