Indore: City to have 3 more real time pollution monitoring units

Indore: People coming to Indore will get real time status of air pollution even before entering the city as the Regional Pollution Control Board (PCB) has installed a real time display unit at the city airport. The unit will be connected with real time monitoring machines installed at Mhow Naka, Vijay Nagar and Pologround with which people will know the exact level of pollution in different parts of the city. According to officials of Regional Pollution Control Board the display unit will start functioning by the end of this month and will facilitate flyers (visitors) about the status of pollution in the city. The PCB will also put up display units of real time pollution at Palasia Square, Rajiv Gandhi Square and DIG office square.

At present, the PCB has three real time monitoring machines at Scheme No 54, Kothari Market and Sanwer. It will install three more machines at places include Mhow Naka Square and Vijay Nagar Square with the help of a pharmaceutical company. Notably, a real time machine has also been installed at Pologround with the help of industrialists.

PCB to give presentation before Central PCB
The Regional Pollution Control Board officials have given a presentation over status of pollution in Kanh River and the work done by them for the same. The department officials will now give a presentation before the Central Pollution Control Board and later to the ministry.

Director of Regional Pollution Control Board RK Gupta said, “We will give the status report as well as detailed plan rfor Kanh River. We have also served notices to 53 companies functioning on the bank of the river to set up treatment plant and acted against the guilty as well.” Gupta also informed the collector, during the presentation, that sewage tapping work is not fully completed by the Indore Municipal Corporation and sewage water is still entering draining into river.
