Indore: To increase the voting turn out in forthcoming Lok Sabha election, the district returning office has taken steps to step up for voter awareness. As part of exercise, ‘chunav pathshalas’ will be organised at every polling booth to make voters aware. These directives were given to nodal officers at the meeting of standing committee of election, which collector and district election officer Lokesh Kumar Jatav presided over on Monday. At the meeting, district panchayat CEO and nodal officer of Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) Neha Meena said media monitoring room will be set up in district panchayat buildng.
There will be 24-hour monitoring of electronic and print media work. Vivek Shrotri, incharge of training work, said training for holding Lok Sabha election has begun. Training was held at Holkar Science College and Government Arts and Commerce College in last three days. Collector Jatav asked Indore Municipal Corporation to take effective steps under Defacing of Property Act. Instructions were also given to start work on Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Practices (SVEEP). The meeting was attended by additional collectors Kailash Wankhede, Pawan Jain and Ajay Dev among others.
