Indore: The Centre is working to pass on the technology to states in the MSME sector. As a result, production of yarn at certain places in the country has boomed after solar charkhas were introduced in villages. Minister of state (independent charge) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh stated this while delivering keynote address at silver jubilee year programme of Laghu Udyog Bharati, Indore, at CA auditorium on Sunday. He said decentralisation of technology will help village women to produce yarn. “This way, they can take care of household and also become self-employed,” he remarked. He said union government will introduce similar technology decentralisation method in other production areas, which will provide more employment and make people self reliant. In his address, Singh said government has sanctioned more than 17 lakh loans to entrepreneurs from 2014 to 2018 while the previous government had provided around 11 lakh loans from 2010 to 2014. He said the loan amount for entrepreneurs, which was Rs 1 crore earlier has now been increased up to Rs 2 crore.
Responding to debate on government giving more benefits to medium enterprises rather than micro and small scale enterprises, Singh said Centre is making schemes and policies, which will provide maximum employment to medium, micro and small enterprises separately. “World has SME and India has MSME. Currently, no exact data is available as to how many people are directly involved in the medium, micro and small enterprises separately. Once we have the data, we can work accordingly,” he added. Giriraj Singh pointed out that Indore is called Mini Bombay because of its growing and expanding money flow in various industries. “Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises are the spine of country’s development. We are committed to promoting the sector,” he remarked. National Laghu Udyog Bharati president Jitendra Gupta presided over the function. National Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat secretary Dinkar Sabnis, MLAs Mahendra Hardia and Akash Vijayvargiya were special invitees.
