Body of a scrap dealer was found in a gunny bag that created panic in Khajrana on Friday. The scrap dealer was stabbed to death by unidentified person and later his body was dumped in an isolated place. Police have detained a suspect who is being questioned further.
Additional Superintendent of Police Shailendra Singh said residents of Ashrafi Nagar spotted the gunny bag at 6.30 am and informed the police. The police team reached there and opened the bag and recovered the body. The deceased has been identified as Bablu alias Habib (45), a resident of Asharfi Nagar. He was stabbed on neck and back side of head. Later, his body was put in the gunny bag and dumped in the isolated place.
Family members said Bablu, a scrap dealer, runs his shop on Sanwer Road. He had received a phone call from an unidentified person at 12.30 am that his scrap was seized by police after which he left house and did not return. The family members tried to contact him many times but his mobile phone was found switched off. The family members also searched him in the area and at relatives’ place but in vain.
A suspect who is close to the family of deceased was detained by police on Friday night. Police believed that suspect along with his other accomplices killed Bablu over some issue. Sources claimed that reason behind this murder could be due to extra marital affairs.
Youth stabbed over old rivalry
A 21-year-old youth was stabbed and injured by four persons over old rivalry in Sadar Bazaar police station on Friday. Victim is undergoing treatment in a city hospital. No arrests have been made till filing the report. According to police, the incident took place in Garib Nawaz Colony in Friday noon. Victim Shahid along with father Abdul Saeed was returning home after offering namaz when Sohail, Chhotu, Appu and Salman stopped them. The accused took away Shahid on pretext of having important conversation and stabbed him.
