Indore: Surprised following their 'failure' to clear the BDS Final year, a large number of dental students mainly from private colleges have appealed to Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur to reevaluate their results.
About 30 per cent students of a private dental college in the city failed in the final year exam and they alleged that they had done well in exams and they don’t believe in the results.
“Many students who were meritorious throughout the course failed in the final exam which was beyond imagination. We appealed to the university to reevaluate the results as it will affect our career,” the students said.
They also alleged that even last year, many students got over 25-30 marks in one subject after revaluation.
Meanwhile, Dental Students Welfare Association of India also dashed off a letter to the vice chancellor of MPMSU to reevaluate the results for the sake of the students.
Registrar of Shri Aurobindo University Dr Anand Misra said, “We have received applications from the students in this regard. We will appeal to the university for taking appropriate action over the same in the interest of the students.”
However, the Principal of Government College of Dentistry Dr Deshraj Jain said that there is no rule of revaluation in the university.
“Results were made only after moderation, i.e. by re-evaluating the marksheets and revaluation is done already. Results are good and there is no need to change the same,” Dr Jain said.
