Indore: About 30 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were replaced during the voting held here on Sunday. However, voting was not affected due to it. District election officer Lokesh Jatav stated this during review meeting of Lok Sabha election held at Nehru Stadium on Monday. General observer Chandrashekhar Khare, assistant returning officers and representatives of political parties were present at the meeting.
No complaint was filed by candidate regarding voting at the meeting. Collector Jatav particularly reviewed those polling booths where turnout was more and less than normal and machines were changed. The scrutiny was done on the basis of report of micro observer and on the basis of presiding officer’s notes. All the nine assembly constituencies were scrutinised.
Jatav said activities carried out under the SVEEP plan increased voter awareness, which helped in increasing the voter turnout up to 8 percent. Additional collector Bhavya Mittal, Ajay Dev Sharma, Kailash Wankhede, assistant returning officers were present in the meeting.
