Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two students of the Government Ashtang Ayurveda College have been selected at the national level for research in Ayurveda under the Studentship Programme for Ayurveda Research Ken (SPARK) scheme of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS).

As many as 300 students from across the country have been chosen for research out of approximately 30,000 applicants. The selected students will have two months to complete their research, which aims to benefit people nationwide.

Research on genetic diabetes

Anshika Tomar, a second-year student, will study the genetic causes of diabetes. She will analyze which of the seven Ayurvedic body constitutions (Prakriti) contributes to this condition. Her research will involve 50 patients to identify specific Prakriti types associated with hereditary diabetes. Anshika hails from Bhind.

She will examine the effectiveness of 11 medicinal herbs, including turmeric, in purifying air through dhoopan therapy. The study aims to determine the impact of these methods on the modern-day environment. Himani is originally from Narmadapuram.
