Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Singer and rapper Honey Singh arrived here on Friday evening amidst uncertainty over his much-talked about live concert in Indore on March 8. While fans eagerly awaited the show, a dispute between the event organisers and Indore Municipal Corporation nearly put the show in jeopardy.
However, after negotiations, the issue was resolved and the concert is set to take place as planned. The conflict arose when mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav expressed displeasure over the non-payment of entertainment tax by the event organisers, resultantly he on Thursday wrote letter to the district collector and the police commissioner urging them not to grant permission for the event.
The tax was not paid till Friday afternoon, prompting him to direct municipal commissioner Shivam Verma to halt the event preparations. In response, the organisers met with IMC officials, presenting documents showing an expected income of Rs 67 lakh from the concert.
They initially agreed to pay Rs 6.7 lakh (10% entertainment tax) but the corporation demanded a written affidavit. Following discussions, both parties reached a consensus ensuring the concert would proceed without further hindrance on March 8.
Currently, Honey Singh is on India tour. He held shows in Mumbai, Delhi and Lucknow.
