Expert lays stress on plastic roads

Indore :  A presentation on constructing roads using recycled plastic was made by Dr R Vasudevan, Dean of the Madurai Engineering College before Mayor KM Moghe, Collector Akash Tripathi and other officials of the IMC and the IDA at AICTSL office, on Wednesday.

During the meeting, it was informed that the non-biodegradable chemical combination of plastic would be long-lasting than the tarmac roads and would have least effect during rains.

As per information, during the presentation, the process of converting plastic and using it as a prime agent in the construction of roads was explained by the experts.

It was also informed that the plastic made roads would be cheaper and it costs 30 per cent of the cost of tar and cement roads.

On the occasion, Mayor KM Moghe said that the plastic roads would not get damaged in the rains. He added that the construction of these roads would be started in near

 future.
