Indore : Revamping its website, the district administration has made it more people-friendly by adding more citizen centric services desired by users.

The website is compatible for even the blind. A ‘screen reader’ window is being added at home page for the visually impaired. They can access the website using assistive technology like screen reader applications. Links to the free apps are also given on the website.

The revamp was carried out National Informatics Centre (NIC) at the instance of District Collector P Narahari.

English and Hindi were used in a mixed manner at district administration’s website till now. The user can now browse in both languages, separately.

Facility to increase or decrease the font size of the content is also provided at the website.

The website also allows user to link voter ID with Aadhar number. A new window also gives details of status of marriage certificate applications, voter ID, Jansunvai etc. Under the window – ‘notice board’ – the check list for certain documents can also be known.

The user can now get information about the officer of revenue department of their sub division, including SDM, tehsildar, naib tehsildar, revenue inspector and patwari, with their contact numbers. Information about MLAs and MPs is also uploaded on the website.

The citizens can lodge their complaints and also give the suggestions directly to the collector through Facebook and Twitter. Links to both the social media sites are given on website.
