Dhar: Irregularities found in public distribution system in Sardarpur tehsil, shop operator removed

A show cause notice was issued to operator Vardichand Parwar on June 8 and a case was registered against him at police station.

Sardarpur (Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh): The district administration has removed fair price shop operator in Karnawad village of Sardarpur tehsil.

SDM Bondar Singh Kalesh passed the order on Thursday to recover Rs 5,000 security amount from the operator after finding irregularities in the public distribution system.

On June 7, the shop was inspected by Junior Supply Officer. During surprise inspection, the stock/price list was missing on the board. Clear information about days of opening of the shop and samples of grain were also not mentioned.

On physical verification, 313 bags each having 50 kg wheat each, 8 bags of salt, 74 sacks of loose rice, each containing 30 kg, 8 sacks of millet and 33 kg of sugar were found.

When the stock register was matched, 0.95 quintal less wheat was found, 0.18 quintal more rice, 0.38 quintal more salt, 4 quintals more millet were found. A show cause notice was issued to operator Vardichand Parwar on June 8 and a case was registered against him at police station.

Dissatisfied with his reply, SDM Bondar Singh Kalesh passed an order for his removal on June 10.
