Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): State cabinet minister Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon campaigned for BJP candidate Nirbhay Singh Patel from district panchayat ward No 14 and addressed party workers in the presence of many senior leaders here in Dhar.

Addressing the gathering here, Dattigaon made every possible attempt to corner rival candidates. Seeking voter support for Patel, he said that there is a difference between asking for votes and buying votes. A social worker who has served you for many years is now asking for votes with folded hands for the first time and it is now up to you to bless him with your votes. Nowadays people have money and power and they buy votes, he added. He told voters to understand the value of their vote and support the BJP candidate.

BJP district president Rajiv Yadav and other senior leaders including BJP Sangathan district in-charge Shyam Bansal, former MLA Karan Singh Panwar and others also addressed the occasion.

After two-phase voting of the three-tier panchayat election, BJP is leading on nine seats, Congress on six and the independent on three. The district has a total of 28 district panchayat seats and voting for 18 seats has already been done in the first two-phase, while voting for the remaining 10 seats will be held on July 8. Both the political parties are trying their best to get the maximum seats to strengthen their position in the district ahead of state assembly elections scheduled for the end of 2023.
