Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): Despite High Court order, CT scan machine has not been installed in the district hospital. Advocate Vijay Sharma who filed an interim application in the case, staged a sit-in with his supporters on Thursday.
The civil surgeon made them talk to the official responsible for getting the machine installed and he assured them that machine will be installed by Tuesday as the payment has been made.
The CT scan machines were to be installed in 19 districts including Dhar by state government. A tender was floated in 2018. An 8-year contract was signed in same year to install machines at rate of Rs 933 per piece. The contract was signed with M/s Siddharth MRI & CT Scan Service, Jaipur. As per the contract, CT scan machine was to be installed by March 2019 but it was not done.
When the matter came to notice of High Court, it took suo moto cognisance, ordered that CT scan machines be installed immediately in the government hospitals of all 19 districts and action be taken against guilty officials.
During the second wave of Covid-19, when lung infection became a major problem and CT scan machine was needed, an interim application was filed by advocate Vijay Sharma at High Court to immediately install CT scan machine in Dhar. On May 31, the company's advocate assured to install a CT scan machine in Dhar district hospital within a week.
Till date, the CT scan machine has not been installed.
