Indore : Civil Surgeon Dr Ratan Khandelwal and Tehsildar Anita Chokhatiya found 10 bottles of expired cough syrup and 2 straps of expired tablet from the counter of ‘Sahayata’ in the District Hospital, on Wednesday.
The officials seized the medicines and served a show cause notice to the operators of Sahayta. Dr Khandelwal said, “The counter was sealed by CMHO Dr Shantilal Porwal and SDM Ajit Srivastava on Tuesday following complaints of distribution of expired medicines. We opened the counter on Wednesday and seized the expired medicines.” Dr Khandelwal said that a Class 12th girl was distributing the medicines at the counter, who claimed to keep these medicines for disposal. She told us that she had given the medicine to the patient in emergency.
“We also asked the operators to call the medicine supplier on Thursday for further investigation,” he added.
