Long standing dispute stated to be reason for killing
Indore : One person was shot dead and another was critically injured on Monday evening in Anoop Nagar area in what the police are terming a long drawn dispute.
Both the victim and the accused are hardened criminals and a search is on for the accused, who is absconding after the shooting.
According to the police, the shooting occurred near Anoop Nagar auto-stand and the deceased was identified as Imran (28) a resident of Khajrana. Imran is a listed criminal under Khajrana police station.
The police said Imran accompanied by Furqan (17), also a resident of Khajrana, met accused Israel (25), who is a listed criminal of the same police station area.
Imran and Israel met to sort out their differences when an argument ensued between the two. The argument soon escalated into a full-scale brawl whereupon Israel fished out his pistol and shot at Imran and Furqan.
Imran was hit in the chest while Furqan received gunshot injuries in the stomach. The two were rushed to the hospital where doctors declared Imran brought dead. Furqan is in a critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
Meanwhile, TI Taresh Soni of MIG Police station said that a search is on for Israel.
Sources, however, said that Israel was involved in online betting and had some running dispute with one of the acquaintances of Imran. Imran probably was brokering a peace when he was caught in the cross fire.
