Indore : The Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has directed colleges to complete syllabus of the sixth semester of undergraduate courses by February end at any cost so that the exams could be held in March.

In view of Simhastha-2016 which is to commence in Ujjain on April 22, the university has been directed by the State Government to complete all its exams by March end.

However, the university has expressed its inability to hold exams of all semesters by March. It, however, has promised of doing away with sixth semester exams so that the students could complete their graduation before commencement of centralised online counselling for admission in Postgraduate courses.

“The counselling is likely to be held in May. We will complete the sixth semester exams of BSc, BCom and BA courses in March and declare the results in April so that the students wishing to take admission in the PG courses can participate in the counselling. However, it is not possible for us to hold the exams for the second and fourth semester before June,” Deputy Registrar (exams) Prajwal Khare said.

He said that the colleges have been instructed to complete syllabus of sixth semester by February end at any cost so that the exams proposed in March do not get delayed.

“The colleges have been asked to hold extra classes if need be to complete the course by February end,” Khare said.

The university, however, has informed the government that the semester exams of all courses offered by university teaching departments will be over before Simhastha.
