Indore : BDS third professional students of D-batch, who could not clear their exams in first attempt, on Friday cried foul over fixing their exams along with regular batch students of the same professional.
They said that this confluence will deprive them of second attempt if they failed to clear the exams scheduled from February 19.
Generally, the DAVV holds D-batch exams of a particular professional at least three months ahead of the exams for regular batch students of the same professional. This is planned in such a manner so that if any students of D-batch failed to pass the exams they can get another change to clear the papers during exams with regular students.
This year, the DAVV fixed exams of both the D-batch and regular batch students of third professional together. Taken aback by this, the students of D-batch reached the university on Thursday and requested it to change the timetable else those who would be declared unsuccessful in exams will have to wait for one complete year for second attempt.
They claimed that the regular students batch study period should end in April as per academic norms and their exams should not be organized before May.
“If their (regular batch students) exams will be held as per norms, the students of D-batch who could not clear the exams scheduled from February 19 will get a change for another attempt in May,” D-batch students told exam controller Ashesh Tiwari. They said that the university should have not advanced the exams of regular batch students at the cost of D-batch students. The exam controller Ashesh Tiwari said that he would discuss the issue with deans of medical college and his subordinate and get back to them in a day or two.
