Khetia (Barwani district, Madhya Pradesh): With launch of walk-in registration facility for people above 18 at government-run Covid vaccination centres, Khetia witnessed high enthusiasm among the people.
A large number of people aged between 18 and 44 years thronged the only vaccination centre at Khetia Girls School on Friday. As a result, crowd ignored norms formed by the government. According to information, many villagers gathered outside school premises before 7 am.
Meanwhile, the department reduced the vaccination target for 18 plus people at vaccination centre from 200 to 100. As a result, only 100 people were allowed to get entry at vaccination centre.
Upset with this, many villagers who were eagerly waiting for their turn, objected. Before it became worse, duty doctors including Dr Neha Arya, Dr Aman Modi with local police controlled the situation and convinced the people that they will be vaccinated soon.
Not only people of 18-44 category but people above 45 years of age also returned dejected because of lack of information about government’s decision about increase in time gap between two doses.
