Barwani: Khetia exceeds vaccination target, adjoining villages show similar trend

Though the corona positivity rate was high during the second wave in Mortalai, the village is now infection-free.

Khetia (Barwani district): The target was to vaccinate 400 people here on Wednesday. However, 450 people were inoculated.

Early morning, Santosh Chaitanya Ji Maharaj from Shri Krishna Gaushala Nisarpur located near Khetia came for vaccination along with the members of the trust. He blessed everyone after receiving jab and left. Gradually, more number of people visited the vaccination centre and target was crossed.

Besides Khetia, vaccination was carried out in Mortalai, Bhatki and Rakhi Buzurg villages. Though the corona positivity rate was high during the second wave in Mortalai, the village is now infection-free. A large number of people turned up at Panchayat Bhawan in Mortalai for vaccination.

Employees including administrative officer, additional tehsildar Hukum Singh Nigwal, Block Medical Officer Dr Arvind Kirade have made frequent visits to motivate people for inoculation.

A team of teachers Bhatki village, at their own expense, went from village to village in Khetia development block to motivate people for vaccination. BMO Dr Arvind Kirade said daily vaccination target is being achieved in rural areas and urban areas.

Till Wednesday evening, 210 people were inoculated in Bhatki against given target of 200 while 100 people were vaccinated in Rakhi Buzurg against the given target of 100.
