Indore : A Babu of a government girls’ higher secondary school was caught by Lok Ayukta police while accepting an amount of Rs 500 as bribe from a lady teacher of the same school.
Ajay Rathore, a computer operator of the school, had sought the bribe for issuing scholarship forms for students belonging to reserved category.
The scholarship amount meant for students of reserved category is issued by the Tribal Welfare Department. Teacher of the government girls’ higher secondary school situated near Bada Ganpati, Jaya Pawar had sought scholarship forms for 43 students from Rathore. But he demanded a bribe of Rs 500 from her.
Pawar agreed to pay the amount but before handing over the same to Rathore she reached Lok Ayukta police office and lodged a complaint against him.
Lok Ayukta sleuths laid a trap to nab the corrupt Babu and sent Pawar with the demanded amount to him. “As Rathore accepted the bribe, Lok Ayukta sleuths nabbed him red-handed. The accused was booked under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act,” BS Parihar, DSP, Lok Ayukta said.
