Agar Malwa (Madhya Pradesh): At the time when central and the state governments are making tall promises of leaving no stone unturned to provide good education in rural areas, Agar Malwa district is witness to an unusual happening, which defies claims of both the governments.
In Chikhli village, a primary school building is being used to store village panchayat’s utensils. Ironically, every room of the school building has motivational quotes of national heroes while its walls are painted with images of fruits and other items for educational purpose.
However, the classrooms are waiting for students as the school management decided to store utensils instead of allowing children to receive education. The gate is locked to avoid theft of utensils.
When contacted, school incharge and teacher Madanlal Sharma appeared ignorant about the matter. He said the school building is old and the school has been shifted to a new building nearby. When media told him the reality, he said he will have to see who has keys of locked school building.
When contacted, Agar Malwa District Education Officer KK Agrawal said he would look into the matter and will conduct investigation. “Action will be taken against person who is responsible for allowing to store panchayat’s utensils,” he added.
