Indore: College students with science and engineering background, who aspire to study at Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT) and have not applied for admission in its new short-term course, should act immediately. The online window to apply for ‘Advanced Orientation Course on Accelerators, Lasers and Related Science and Technologies’ (OCAL) is shutting on Thursday.
However, the last day to submit application through email is April 24.
As part of its public outreach programme, the RRCAT has initiated the certificate on OCAL for budding scientists from this year onwards.
The course is of 53-day duration and will be offered from May 25. Students will have to stay in the institute campus during the course period.
“The orientation course is structured to impart students a sound conceptual knowledge as well as experimental training in front-line research areas in accelerators, lasers, and related technologies,” the RRCAT said.
The course will consist of classroom lectures, visits to various RRCAT labs, practical training in the form of hands-on experiments, and talks by eminent scientists and technocrats.
Students will be selected for the course based on a short essay on “My interest in accelerators and lasers” and their academic record.
