8 SAS officers of div eye IAS award

Indore : The eight officers of the State Administration Service (SAS) from the batch of 1987 to 1992 of the Indore Division are in the race for the IAS award, including 5 posted in the Indore District.

The General Administration Department (GAD) has sent the appraisal report of all the 36 SAS officers of the state to UPSC that has to take call for Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).

Each year, GDA gets the number of quota for the IAS award to the officers of SAS. This year, there is quota for 20 SAS officers to be awarded with IAS. However, there are 36 SAS officers in the race for the award.

The General Administration Department (GAD) had sent a letter to all the divisional commissioners of the state on June 11 this year seeking the information about Departmental Enquiry (DE) and the investigation pending before Lok Ayukta and Economic Offence Wing (EOW) against 36 SAS officers who are eligible for the IAS award.

4 SAS officer from the city

Administrative sources informed this correspondent that out of 36 SAS officers of the state, 8 belong to the Indore Division, who are presently posted in 4 district of the Division including the Indore District.

The SAS officers included for the race of the IAS award are from the batch of 1987 to 1992.

Gopal Chandra Dad, an SAS officer of 1991 batch and who is presently posted as the Deputy Mela Officer in Ujjain, is also in race for the IAS Award.

UPSC DPC waited

Sources said that after receiving the information from the Divisional Commissioners of the State, including Indore, the GAD has sent the appraisal report of all the 36 SAS officers to Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on August 13. Now, the UPSC has to take call on the names by calling the meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). The date of DPC is yet not decide.
